Provide guidance to mankind:

              The primary function of DEEN is to guide people towards the right path. It provides a sanction for the principles of morality such as justice, honesty, righteousness, brotherhood, equality, tolerance, sacrifice, help to the needy and other kind virtues. It is the Divine light of GOD which shows the clean path; right from wrong, the true from the false, without this guidance not only our life will lose its order and normally but the society as a whole is very likely to be turned towards the chase.

The Holy Quran leads people out of the ignorance of darkness and evil into the light of goodness and piety, as described it in the Holy book:

“This is the book which we have revealed to you, OH Muhammad that you might bring humankind out of darkness into the light by permission of their Lord- to the path of the Exalted in Might, the praiseworthy.”(Surah Ibrahim).

Power to endure adversities of life;

DEEN provides power for facing adversities and serves as a bulwark against undesirable reactions of despair and hopelessness. A person and a society with essence, DEEN firm believe in Allah and His munificence does not find himself in utter desperation even in the worst moments of life, because of the belief that he is under the protection of a being who is Almighty.

“Surely those who are close to Allah, have no fear, nor shall they grieve,” (Surah Yunus).

Provides principles for establishment of justice and fight against discrimination:

              A vital function of DEEN is to guide in the establishment of balanced system of justice and equality.

“We have sent down to you the book in truth that you might judge between men, as guided by Allah” (4:105)

Attempts will be made to defeat the system of justice. The Quran therefor, warns the righteousness to be one guard against such people and exhort them to seek the help of GOD for protection.

DEEN also, strongly opposes every discrimination based on color, race or class because it regards all human beings as GOD’s creatures and every country as God’s country. DEEN Islam recognizes no man superior on the basis of color, race, descent, language or class. Islam only s

“Man, we have created you from a male and a female, and we have divided you into nations and tribes, so that you may get to know one another. Surely, the most honorable amongst you is the one who is pious in the eyes of Allah” (surah Al HUJURAT, 49:3).

DEEN with its firm and sound teachings can be an effective factor in scientific progress because its foundation has been based on the solid bed- rock of “freedom of will” and on the fact that everybody is countable for their own deeds. DEEN teaches that limitless knowledge is the source of this cosmos, which is likely a very grand book penned by an erudite scholar.

The very first verse of the Holy Quran revealed to the prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H) was based on s

“Recite: In the name of Lord who created man from a clot, Recite: and the Lord is the most Generous, who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.”

“And they shall say had we but listened or used reason, we would not be among the inmates of burning fire”

The Quran encourages people towards scientific research by the words:

“And who so bring the truth and believes these in such are the dutiful”

“My Lord; increase my knowledge”.

Encounter with ideological vacuum;

            Man cannot live in an ideological vacuum for long and as such his tendency towards a wrong ideology and false values becomes definite. His intellectual life is not filled with sound beliefs and healthy teachings. A superstitious and even false ideas may find way into his spiritual firmament and may forever pollute his brain.

Instances of man’s tendency towards idolatry, man worship, diverse superstitions and credulity regarding the influence of irrational things over destiny, can be witnessed in the life of word intellectuals.

DEEN plays a part of defensive wall against combating superstitions, though it is true if not understand correctly may promote superstitions by following words:

“(say) call on those – besides Him whom ye fancy; they have neither the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them” (Al – Quran).

         DEEN refers to a complete code of life. Religion deals man’s relation with God whereas, DEEN deals both; the man’s relation with God. And relation with his fellow beings. Religion deals with private affairs of life; whereas DEEN covers all aspects of life individuals and as well as collective. In other words DEEN embraces all spheres of human life which include religion – socio – economic systems. It touches upon materials as well as spiritual dimensions of human existence. In this regard Islam is not only a religion but also a DEEN as it is a complete code of life.
